Living a Principled Life in an Unprincipled World, Part 1

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 4:25–5:2

In light of all that God has done for His people, how then should we live? Ephesians 4:25-5:2 lays out seven necessary principles for godly living, beginning with setting aside any form of deceit. From telling outright falsehoods, to subtly misleading others with our words or actions, to exaggeration and evasion, to disguising our true intentions; the Christian must forsake every kind of falsehood. While we may withhold information to guard another or honor a trust, we must always imitate our Master and speak truth to one another. Why? Because the truth is the foundation for our unity in Christ, and the practice of deceit undermines the trust that nourishes and protects that unity. Are you convicted of practicing some form of deception in your own life? Then lay it aside, and praise God for His grace to show you your need for change, for His Son who bore our penalty, and for His Spirit who empowers us to live godly in Christ Jesus!
