The Work of Ministry
Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Topic: Ministry Passage: Ephesians 4
Upon our salvation, we became a new creation that hungers to know God and grow in spiritual maturity. We long to put off the fleshly attitudes and patterns of life that hinder us, and to put on the Christlikeness that will make us useful, wise, and strong. This is one of the reasons we gather together as a local church. We come to be edified by the preaching of God’s Word, and to reap the spiritual benefits of leaders who minister the truth to us through their teaching, admonition, and example, so that the body as a whole is built up in love and united in faith. In this, we are equipped for the work of service and made increasingly useful for God’s purposes. The point is this: the Lord has taken worthless and broken vessels and made them fit for ministry in His Church; and every expression of this ministry, whether public or private, big or small, plays an important role in fitting and holding the body together. Are you fulfilling the ministry opportunities that God has given you?
