Out With the Old, and in With the New, Part 2

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 4:17–4:24

The natural, unregenerate man does not grieve over his sin. He has no fear of God and therefore his understanding is darkened, leading him to do what feels right rather than what is right. But the Christian man has acknowledged his sin, and the more he walks in the Spirit the more aware he becomes of its presence in his life. The believer’s struggle for personal holiness is not optional, nor is it a practice reserved only for the few. We must all wage war against indwelling sin. If we fail to recognize the dangers of worldliness we may be subtly drawn into worldly patterns, particularly if we don’t have a mature perspective on our Christian liberties. Can believers feel free to pursue worldly practices not specifically prohibited by Scripture? Here’s a better question: Will these practices help you draw closer to God, or draw you away?
