The Christian's Worthy Walk: Corporate Transformation, Part 5
Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 4:7–4:16
In local church ministry, sometimes we are content to only listen for professions of belief when we should also be looking for demonstrations of faith. When the heart is bowed to Christ, the knee must necessarily follow. Every born again believer is called into the service of the King, but we must be equipped to do His work. This is the task of spiritual leaders, gifted men who Christ has given to teach and shepherd His flock into greater love and maturity. Where leaders are faithful to minister as God commands, we will see a local church that is equipped for the work of service, being built up into Christlike maturity, and which enjoys genuine unity that is established in the truth and preserved through faithful living. What is the work of service? It could be anything from the simplest labor to teaching and proclaiming the Word of God. We must remember that the work may require great sacrifice and hardship, and may even go unnoticed by others. But the rewards are far greater still, because God sees all, and our work is used by Him for the good and growth of His Church!
