Worship through Prayer, Part 6

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 1:19–1:21

Many in the Church today teach that we should seek God through our feelings, and measure our spiritual walk in the same way. But the basis of Paul's prayer for the Ephesian church was not in how they "felt" about God's power and plan, but that they would know the fullness and certainty of these truths. When we encounter the living God in His Word and our hearts are contrite and prepared to seek His glory, we find abundant power to live for Christ. It is a power that cannot be resisted, and that triumphs over all odds to effectively accomplish the work of God in the believer. This stunning power is not for the self-sufficient, self-absorbed, or self-righteous, but for the helpless sinner who recognizes the depth of his need before God.
