Worship through Prayer, Part 3

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 1:17–1:23

Before the Apostle Paul explained the great doctrines of the gospel and the Church, He prayed that God would grant a spirit of wisdom and revelation to His people. Great spiritual work always begins with a private work of prayer before God. It aligns our hearts and minds with His, and enlightens our senses so that we're ready to see His handiwork in front of us. It reminds us that His will is greater than our own, and of our continued need for His protection because of our weaknesses. The Church advances on the backs of saints kneeled in prayer. Therefore our prayers should be bigger than ourselves and our personal needs. We should be driven by God's greatness and consumed with the things that He seeks. Is your prayer life stagnant and weak? Then as you bow your knee, also bow your heart and bend your will. If Christ so submitted Himself to the wisdom and plans of the Father, should we not also do the same?
