For years, modern evangelicalism has marketed the gospel as the ultimate panacea for earthly ills, and preached a Jesus who saves from depression, poverty, and injustice. In truth, Jesus offers us something infinitely greater. Through Christ alone, we can have peace with a holy God. This peace isn’t a vague and elusive feeling, but a settled conviction that all is well because you’ve been justified by faith and now stand secure in a grace that guarantees a future bright with promise. It is a peace that springs from knowing that you are always welcomed by the Father through faith in the Son, and a peace that is so life transforming that it becomes both your only boast and your greatest comfort. Christian, if you’ve succumbed to living in fear because of sin or ignorance, flee to the Savior in whom every spiritual blessing is found. If you’ve never known Christ, trust Him now with your life. Give up your sin, give Him your heart, and finally find genuine rest for your soul and direction for your life.
