Argentina Update and Motivation for Ministry

Pastor Matias Buldain updates us on the work of church planting and expository ministry in Argentina, and then gives us a wonderful exhortation on the motivation for Christian ministry. How can we cultivate the pure affections and desires of the heart that should motivate us? We must remember that we do more than just proclaim. We persuade and we plead. We are ambassadors of the King, former rebels ourselves, given the profound privilege of telling men of the King’s wrath, and His free offer of forgiveness by grace through faith in Christ. We must be motivated by the fear of God and controlled by the love of Christ, understanding that the source of this ministry of reconciliation is God Himself. We must live as we teach, soberly considering the coming judgment on sinners and Christ’s evaluation of our own faithfulness. We must let the Savior’s love be our model, forever pierced by the truth that He became sin so that we might have His righteousness. Given such glorious truths, how can our hearts not burn within us?
