Be a Disciple-Maker

Pastor: Pastor Vinny Sawyer Series: Special Topic Topic: Default Passage: Matthew 28:16–20

Think for a moment about all of the people God has providentially brought into your life. How have they been impacted by your faith in Jesus Christ? Would the believers among them say that you’ve encouraged them and helped them become more Christlike? What about the unbelievers within your sphere of influence? Have they heard God’s Word from your lips, and have they seen Christ in your character? If you are a Christian, you have a commission from your Lord to make disciples, and this includes both evangelizing and instructing. We should be willing to proclaim the gospel when we have opportunity, not allowing fears or natural barriers to silence our witness, motivated solely by a desire to see lives transformed for the glory of God. We have a clear message from the Scriptures, the authority in Christ’s name to proclaim it, and the enablement of the Holy Spirit to do the work. The mission field is before you, and there is much work to do. If you’re not engaged in making disciples, what’s stopping you?
