Curing Financial Worry - Part 2

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Matthew Passage: Matthew 6:25–34

What do you live for? Is it for financial independence, retirement, or even just the weekend? The temptation of such earthly pressures and treasures can warp our sense of priority, causing us to become consumed with the lesser matters of life. As we embrace the desire to find fulfillment and security in earthly things, anxiety will be the inevitable result. But Jesus reminds us that faith and anxiety are at odds, because worry is the fruit of unbelief. How can we cultivate a life of confidence in the Lord? We must remember that we are called to be different than the world. The world hopes in futility, driven by lusts and carnal fears while believers trust in God to provide. We also must remember to intentionally place our focus on the eternal instead of the earthly, and to let God be the determiner and supplier of our true needs. Finally, we must be careful to live one day at a time, trusting our loving Father for today’s needs and letting Him be concerned with all of our tomorrows.
