The Preparation for the King, Part 2
Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Matthew Passage: Matthew 3:1–3:12
How you live is a reflection of what you believe. Saving faith in Christ and His gospel frees us from bondage to sin, and should compel us to live as citizens of God’s Kingdom. The promise of this Kingdom is sure, as its coming is heralded throughout the Scriptures. The principle of this Kingdom is the new birth, without which no one will gain entrance. The practice of this Kingdom is righteousness, as sin and darkness have no place there. The Person of this Kingdom is Christ, for He is both our Savior and Sovereign. Finally, the place of this Kingdom is the New Jerusalem, the eternal heavenly city where the saints will find its ultimate fulfillment in the presence of God. Repentance is the heart of the gospel. Have you believed Christ and submitted your life to His rule? If so, then press on in the pursuit of holiness, confident in God’s power to help you endure. If not, then repent even today, for the Kingdom of God is at hand.
