Guarding Against Idols

An idol is anything that we exalt or worship other than God. How do you know if something you adore is becoming an idol? Are you willing to sin or harm others to get it? Has it become something you can't live or function without, or do you seek immediate gratification instead of walking by faith? Uproot these idols by seeking a vital personal relationship with Christ, cleansing your mind and heart with God's Word, putting to death earthly passions, and walking in the Spirit. Christians, guard yourselves from idols!
