The Nature of Hypocrisy

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Selected Scriptures Passage: Acts 4:32–5:11

Simply put, hypocrisy is pretending to be one thing while actually being something else. All Christians struggle with sin, but spiritual hypocrisy is a lie to God Himself that wraps a sinful desire to honor or benefit oneself in a cloak of good works. It is an insidious sin that seeks a shortcut to holiness by embracing the appearance of godliness rather than real spiritual fruit. But God will not be mocked. He will judge hypocrisy to purify the Church. There is only one way to grow in holiness and bear real and lasting spiritual fruit: Die to self, and live to Christ.
