PASTOR MARC WRAGG, DEVOTIONAL IN SELECTED SCRIPTURES, MAY 2

Whatever circumstances the Lord may bring us through, believers take encouragement in the Word of God. It lightens our burdens in the midst of difficulty, gives us needed wisdom when our path seems unclear, and gives us confidence that we’re walking in faith when others may question our intentions. As we anticipate regathering again soon, consider how you might comfort one another with the truth.

PASTOR STEVE SMITH, DEVOTIONAL IN SELECTED SCRIPTURES, APRIL 24

Until we begin to mature in our Christian character, our tendency is to confuse preference with principle, to believe that our choices and expectations are always right and best, and to regard those who differ with us as weak, or worse. One day soon, the current restrictions will ease, and we will again gather together for worship. Some will feel free to immediately return while others will wait a bit longer due to personal circumstances or conscience. Whatever your choice may be, commit yourself now to standing on the biblical principle of love by yielding on matters of preference or conscience. Choose to love by believing the best, and by graciously accepting those who take a different view.

PASTOR NICK FOERSTER, DEVOTIONAL IN 1 CORINTHIANS 15:58, APRIL 17

Trouble has a way of exposing the human heart. Those who find their life in the idols of comfort and prosperity are shaken when those things are threatened. But those whose security is Jesus Christ are steadfast of heart, because have an inheritance that can never be taken from them.

PASTOR ERIC BORGSTROM, DEVOTIONAL IN HABUKKUK, APRIL 3

What does genuine faith look like in times of trouble? As we face the difficulties ahead, the natural mind races and is consumed with one question: "What if?" In contrast, the mind set on Christ rests on one settled conviction: "Even if."
