In response to their awe of it's grandeur and beauty, Jesus gave His disciples a sobering warning that must have shaken them to their core— Jerusalem's great and glorious Temple was going to be completely destoyed. When they pressed Him for details, Jesus answered by explaining the prophecy of Daniel, written some six hundred years prior. Just as the disciples, if we desire to know God's eschatological purposes we must remember two things: it is not for us to know the day and the hour, but the key to understanding God's plans can be found in understanding the prophecy of Daniel.
