Church Restoration, Part 2

Confrontation is not something we should ever enjoy, but neither should we fear it. As believers and members of a local body, we have a duty to protect the integrity of the ministry. What’s more, we should care enough about our sinning brother to seek him out and help him see the dangers on his path. Our goal is always loving restoration, but our aim should be clarity. We need to be clear in our own mind as to how the Scriptures speak to the circumstances, and we should be able to help the sinning party see the inconsistency of his walk. When the issues are clear to the church, everyone is better able to encourage a wayward member to respond in faith to the penetrating truth of God’s Word.
