Rome is dogmatic about Peter being the visible head of the church. If Christ was setting up the papacy of the Roman Catholic Church, why don’t other places in Scripture affirm this? Paul never confirmed it, neither did Peter, not even our Lord. We recognize Peter’s prominence among the Apostles, but not the primacy and permanency of the papacy.
