Responding to Christ: Indifference
Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Responding to Christ Topic: Unbelief Passage: Matthew 11:20–24
Jesus Christ wielded power that had never been seen before or since. He raised the dead, instantaneously healed diseases and restored broken bodies, and demonstrated His authority over nature. Yet many who witnessed His power were indifferent to His message. They refused to repent and believe. The same is often true today when people are confronted with biblical truth. They claim that the God of the Bible is unloving, even though He mercifully warns us of judgment and graciously provides the way of escape. Do you live in submission to Christ, or are you indifferent to God’s commands? You cannot sit under the teaching of God’s Word, see its power, choose not to obey, and expect to be blessed by God. Judgment will be more severe for those who have sinned against a greater knowledge of the truth. Though we must warn you of God’s wrath and the judgment to come, much more do we implore you to entrust yourself to God’s grace in Christ. How will you respond to the gospel? By bowing your knee, or hardening your heart?
