Repentance From Worldliness, Part 2

Pastor: Pastor Eric Borgstrom Series: Special Topic Topic: worldliness Passage: James 4:1–10

The signs of spiritual idolatry are unmistakable: conflict with others, distance from God, and a lack of effective prayer. If you see these things in your own life, do not callously harden your heart, but rather humbly submit yourself to Him, repent of any false way, and loosen your grip on the idols that stand between yourself and your Savior. When we stray from the Lord, we must recognize that we have believed the lies of Satan and willingly fallen under his influence; and we must respond by resisting the devil and actively combatting his lies with the truth of God’s Word. As we do, Satan will flee and our hearts will again be tender and willing to draw near to God and live in joyful obedience to His commands. Is your life filled with conflict and your prayer life empty of praise and thanksgiving? Then waste no time in humbling your heart and seeking His wisdom and glory in prayer, and find again the greater grace that restores the sweetness of communion with your loving Father.
