Jesus the Healer, Part 3

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Matthew Topic: Healing Passage: Matthew 8:1–17

Centuries before Christ’s birth, the prophet Isaiah spoke of a Servant of God who would come and bear the griefs and sorrows of His people. Of course, Isaiah foretold the work of the Messiah. Jesus came to heal, and this divine power is on display in the numerous accounts of His healing people of their infirmities and diseases. Jesus came to the lowly and the destitute; meeting the most basic of human needs, and demonstrating not only the power and authority of God, but also God’s compassion toward those who suffer in this life. This healing was instantaneous and complete, and freely available to all who appealed to Him, whether it was for their own benefit or that of a loved one. But Isaiah also said that this Servant would be pierced and crushed for our sins. Great as these physical healings were, they pointed to a far greater spiritual healing that all people so desperately need. If you haven’t sought God’s forgiveness, turn to Christ now and be healed. He is the only Savior from the wrath to come.
