Renewing the Inward Man
Pastor: Pastor Vinny Sawyer Series: Special Topic Passage: 2 Corinthians 4:16
Though our flesh ages and fails, our inner man should be growing steadily stronger day by day. Spiritual growth is the product of spending time in God’s presence. As we seek God’s glory in His Word and meditate upon His truth, our minds are renewed so that our character becomes more like Christ’s. But while God is the source of our growth, such transformation doesn’t come without striving on our part. We must serve Him according to His power, and overcome the trials of life by seeing them through His eternal perspective. As you look back on the past year, how would you evaluate your spiritual life? Are you growing and helping others to do the same, or have you become stagnant and gotten stuck in spiritual doldrums? If you’re struggling in your Christian walk, consider how you’re spending your time. Do you fill your days with distractions, or are you disciplining yourself for the purpose of godliness? Behold your Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and be transformed into His glorious image.
