The Spiritual Warfare Mandate, Part 5

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 6:10–17

When God called us to faith in Christ, He also called us to a life of striving and war. This war is not against people, but against the satanic lies, errors, and ideologies that delude the world and cause believers to stumble in doubt and discouragement. To stand firm, every Christian must actively depend upon the protection and strength that the Lord supplies. Therefore, as you go to war, put on the helmet of salvation; the certain hope of heaven and the sure protection of your soul in Christ. Then take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. It is our sole offensive weapon, and when used as God intends, this sword unerringly reveals truth, refutes the cleverest of lies, and brings life and truth to spirits once cold and dead. Are you standing firm? Are you trusting in God’s resources and working hard to be fully equipped in his armor? Trust not in the strongest arm of flesh, nor in the wisest of men, but only in the Word and works of your God.
