The Spiritual Warfare Mandate, Part 4

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 6:10–17

Christians don’t fight evil by casting out Satan or tearing down demonic strongholds. We simply put on the spiritual armor that God has supplied. We strap on the belt of truth, believing God and upholding His Word. We wear the breastplate of righteousness, living transformed lives as God’s witness to a fallen world. We shod our feet with the gospel of peace, finding strong support in the glorious truth of Christ’s victory over sin as we engage the forces of darkness. Then we hold the shield of faith, using it as an invincible guard against the doubts, fears, and passions that threaten our ruin. Faith in Christ is a gift of God, but you must wield it rightly before the flaming arrows of the enemy. You must not drop it in the heat of battle, or only take it up in times of trouble. Arm yourself with an active faith. Walk surely in the firmness of the gospel, gird yourself securely with the truth, and surround yourself by the righteousness of God.
