The Spiritual Warfare Mandate, Part 2

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 6:10–6:20

The Apostle Paul makes clear that our conduct is important. If we are children of light, then we must also walk as children of light. We should be known by our pursuit of love, holiness, and Christian unity because we have been made new creatures in Christ, and are freed from the power of sin. But Scripture is also clear that we will face serious spiritual opposition. Preparing ourselves for this lifelong fight requires an ongoing commitment to wisdom and discipline. We must be strong in the Lord, resisting our flesh and continually training ourselves in righteousness and learning to rest confidently in God’s power. We must be ready and equipped for spiritual battle, putting on our armor by putting on Christ in our daily pursuit of godliness. Finally, we must be vigilant, expecting the battle to come at any time. Satan has many devices, and the work of transformation can be difficult as we struggle with our flesh, but in Christ we have all of the spiritual resources we need to stand firm.
