Christ Glorified

Pastor: Matthew Phillips Series: Special Topic Passage: 2 Thessalonians 1:3–1:12

When we joyfully persevere through adversity and persecution, Christ is glorified and fellow believers are encouraged in the faith. Why? Because these difficulties prove that saving faith can never be overwhelmed or consumed by troubles, but instead is refined and strengthened. One way or another, each man must glorify Jesus Christ. His people will glorify Him as their godly character proves the genuineness and quality of their faith, and even the lost will glorify Him as they suffer the full measure of His righteous judgment of their sin. How can your life best be used as an instrument for Christ’s glory? Walk with patient endurance, determine to grow in your love for Christ and His Church, and encourage fellow Christians by telling them of your thankfulness for the marked evidence of His grace in their lives. As you walk in faith, walk also in expectant hope. For on that awesome day of His return, all the saints together will glorify Jesus Christ to the fullest measure as we see in one another the wonderful culmination of His sanctifying work!
