The Wisdom of God in the Corporate Gathering
Pastor: Pastor Jerry Wragg Series: special service Passage: Acts 2:37–2:47
What is it that draws Christians to gather every Lord’s Day morning? Churches are filled with a strange and often trying mixture of the “not many mighty and not many noble”. We come from different backgrounds- executive and laborer, urban and rural, wealthy and poor, old and young, and every ethnicity under the sun. Different as we are, we come together with a new song in our hearts, listening for truth, longing for fellowship, and looking for someone to share the exciting things Christ is doing in our lives. God knew that we would be slow to change, vulnerable, weak, frightened, and doubting. In His wisdom, He gave gifts and abilities to each of us and drew us together, amply supplying every resource we would need to glorify Him and build up and encourage one another. The Scriptures know nothing of the Christian who goes it alone. The local church is where we come to heal, to help, to hear, and to give and receive the love that God has poured out on His New Covenant people.
