Serious Living in These Last Days
Pastor: Pastor Vinny Sawyer Series: Guest Speaker Passage: 1 Peter 4:7–4:11
Some get serious at life’s eleventh hour. They become acutely aware of the finality of death, and sense the urgent need to take care of important matters. But no man knows the day that God will call the world to judgment, or even the day of his own death. The time to serve God is now. We must make a habit of prayer so that we may be strengthened against temptation, find wisdom in trials, and be delivered from the torment of fear and worry. We must ardently pursue the love of others, sacrificially meeting their needs, seeking restoration when offense is given, and showing hospitality to brothers and strangers alike. Finally, we must serve Christ wholeheartedly, making full and righteous use of the gifts He’s given us, serving in His strength, and speaking His pure and authoritative Word to all of the circumstances of men. The time already past is enough for us to selfishly live for our own desires. Lay aside everything that hinders your walk with God, and resolve to live for Christ today.
