The Seeking of a King, Part 2

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Matthew Passage: Matthew 2:13–2:18

What we believe about Christ will be reflected in our attitude towards Him. The Magi responded to Christ in faith. They were drawn to Him, and worshiped when they found Him. King Herod hated Christ. He desired to kill Him because He was a threat to Herod’s power and position. The religious leaders were indifferent towards Christ. They knew the Scriptures well enough to tell where Messiah was to be born, but they did not have the wisdom to seek Him. What about you? Are you more like Herod, the religious leaders, or the Magi? If you’re opposed to God like Herod, you should know that you’ll win no battle against the sovereign, almighty, and eternal Lord. If you’re indifferent like the religious leaders, consider that one day you must give account to Him for how you lived your life. I pray that you are worshipers like the Magi! And if not, I pray that you would become so. Resolve to repent to Christ today, and to believe and follow Him who died so that you might have life!
