Living a Principled Life in an Unprincipled World, Part 5

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 4:25–5:2

Destructive and ungodly speech grieves the Spirit of God. This should motivate us to exercise care when we open our mouths, and to strive to build others up with our words rather than tear them down. In the same way, we should take great pains to preserve peace in our relationships by freely exercising forgiveness, even when we have been hurt or have been the target of insensitive speech. We are to forgive, and to put on kind-heartedness, generously and graciously releasing others from their debts and genuinely seeking restoration of the relationship. Why? Because this is how God treated you and me. He was patient with our sins, sought us out when we weren’t seeking Him, and lavishly poured out His mercy and grace on undeserving sinners.
