The Sufficiency of Christ

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Special Topic Passage: Colossians 2:8–2:15

Satan rules a world system that actively seeks to destroy the work of God, and he advances his lies through a multitude of false teachers who deny or misrepresent Christ and His work. Today, many in the Church are naive and vulnerable to this deception. Desperate to hear the voice of God, immature Christians attempt to discern His will for their lives through dreams, visions, and feelings. If this is how you hear from God, then you’re not hearing the Christ of the Bible. The only reliable form of religion is the Person of Christ, not the imaginations of men. And the purest expression of Christ is found in the writings of the apostles who walked with Him. God commands us not to be fooled by false teachers, but how can we protect ourselves from such subtle and deadly errors? Look to Christ! He has borne our penalty, transformed us, made us complete, and His glorious work is certain because He is God! Why would we seek anything else? If your religion doesn’t honor the true Christ, then let it go. If you’re trying to know God’s will and make decisions for your life through visions and feelings, stop looking to yourself and start looking to Christ! Know His Word, and you’ll know His will.
