Suffering and Service for Christ

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Special Topic Passage: Colossians 2:1–2:7

Suffering for the sake of ministry is hard. As the pressure builds, we are tempted to look for a way to escape the difficulty of living by faith. Fear and doubt cause us to question: Must we really obey? Is the Christian life supposed to be this hard? The truth is that God doesn't remove hardship, He ordains it. Though painful, it is useful because it helps us to see our sin, and teaches us to humbly cling to Him. More than deliverance from the struggle, what our soul craves in the midst of the trial is a look at Jesus Christ. Are you suffering and in need of encouragement? Remember that Christ is the foundation of your spiritual life. Labor to present Christ by serving Him selflessly, labor to remain in Christ by standing firm even as opposition rises up against you, and labor to live in Christ by walking in grateful obedience. Those who wholly seek Him find Him wholly sufficient.
