Saved by Grace, Part 2

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Ephesians Passage: Ephesians 2:1–2:10

We are born lost and at war with God, and so we inevitably sin and disqualify ourselves from heaven, living our days on earth under satanic influence. The Gospel is a stumbling block that is placed in our hellbound path. It offers hope and abundance beyond measure, but it is hard to hear because it exposes our evil hearts and demands repentance and submission before the Lord. Why does God confront our sin so directly? Because seeing our sin is necessary if we are to see our need for a Savior. But there's more. We are not only depraved, we are poor. We have no resources or ability to make things right between ourselves and God. These heartbreaking truths reveal the emptiness of our condition, but they also put the richness of God's kindness on display. When we cry out for mercy by faith, we receive not only forgiveness but all the treasure of heaven found in Christ, according to His grace.
