Elder Confirmation Service

Pastor: Pastor Jerry Wragg Series: special service Passage: 1 Thessalonians 2:7–2:12

Christians naturally desire the company of other believers, and so we are drawn to seek out a local church and therefore fulfill God's command. But what is it that makes a church the right one to join? Is it the music, the youth group, or some other element of worship style or ministry emphasis? If you want to find the right church, find one led by faithful shepherds who love the sheep. A Christian leader should have a nurturing heart that cherishes the sheep and that is willing to endure sacrifice as he works hard for their souls. He should have a godly heart that demonstrates a love for holiness and that seeks to protect the sheep, counseling or even confronting them when they go astray. Finally, he should have a redemptive heart whose passion is to see them walk in a worthy manner that is pleasing to the Lord. Look diligently for a church led by men such as these, then submit yourself to their leadership, honor them, and pray for them, remembering that they will give an account for the souls under their care.
