Putting to Death Forbidden Passions

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Communion Service Passage: Colossians 3:5–3:10

Many Christians are prepared to put off the deeds of the flesh, yet find themselves struggling with the internal emotional battle with sin. It can make us feel helpless, as our own lusts entice us and carry us away. But we must remember that we have divine resources through entrusting ourselves to God and willfully yielding to the truth. By faith we declare open hostility toward our sin and mortify every expression of it within. We seek out and destroy the hidden idols of the heart and therefore remove sin's lifeblood. And as we actively trust and yield, we remember why we fight: Sin dishonors God and comes with a heavy price, and the idols of the heart rob Him of the worship that He alone is due.
