Those who sin habitually are not of God. But what is habitual sin? It isn't the number or severity of your sins, but rather your rejection of God's clear and gracious warnings that reveal your true spiritual state. He gave the conscience as an early warning system, His Holy Spirit to convict and enable us to obey, trials to reveal our sin plainly, and finally church members and leaders to confront us directly. Guard your heart from the deceptiveness of sin by informing your conscience with God's Word, and by making a practice of stopping sin while it is yet in the heart.
