Christians sometimes choose sin over obedience, and unresolved sin always brings guilt and shame that hinders our intimacy with God. As a faithful shepherd, the Apostle John reminds us that our Lord can appear at any time, and so he exhorts us to abide in Christ so that we may live joyfully and confidently as we await His soon return.
