Joseph was brought up in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, and attended Ramapo College where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (1978). Subsequently, he attended The George Washington University (Washington, DC) and earned a Master of Science in Environmental Science/Health/Epidemiology (1980).
Although Joseph regularly attended liturgical churches for many years, he was not saved until 1981, where he heard the pure gospel of Christ for the first time in a Bible-teaching church in Northern Virginia. The Lord began cultivating in him a desire for evangelism training as well as biblical counseling/in-depth discipleship training in various Bible-teaching churches. He received comprehensive training and certification through the Biblical Counseling Foundation (BCF, Indio, CA) and Evangelism Explosion III International (Fort Lauderdale, Florida). Since 1991, Joseph has served as BCF's Vice-President of Business and Professional Ministries while serving as an elder in local churches where he has applied his spiritual gifts via regular teaching and leadership roles. In July 2014, after relocating from Tooele County, Utah, Joseph and his family moved to Sarasota County, Florida, to attend and serve at Saving Grace Bible Church. He began serving as an elder at Saving Grace Bible Church in October 2015.
Joseph and his wife (Beverly) have been married since 1985 and have been blessed with four adult children, two daughters-in-law, and two grandsons.
