The building is for the Bunia hospital of Evangelical Medical Center, a group of 3 Christian hospitals and 2 training institutions whose mission is "To propagate the Gospel of Jesus Christby means of health care services and training". Moretti Ministries was able to partner with another missions organization and fund the addition of a pediatric ward. 

In Shalom's university training programs, the Doctors are taught how to share the gospel effectively with patients.  Christian doctors are trained who are both competent medically and keen spiritually.  A hospital that meets government standards for medical school training is needed in order to train them. This includes having wards for all the major services: surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and pediatrics. The hospital in Bunia, Congo where students are training did not have all these wards which highlighted the need for a pediatric ward.
