Bryan and Kerra Twombly, along with their 3 children, Uriah, Sadie, and PJ, are ministering in Madang, Papua New Guinea (PNG). They have been there since 2023, with the goal of seeing God glorified among the people of Madang through the establishment of a strong, faithful church in the city. The Finisterre mountain range in PNG has approximately seventy different language groups. They have not been able to hear or read how the Scriptures unfold the gospel of Jesus Christ.
From their time so far in Madang, their family is doing well. Kerra has been building relationships with a few ladies and continues to press into language learning. Uriah, Sadie, and PJ are encouraging, fun, and joyful. Each has made large strides in learning the language, which is an answer to prayer.
Each week, Bryan teaches the second sermon at a nearby church, aiming to clearly explain the main point of the text and its implication in 12-15 minutes. Preaching in PNG is often shallow and confusing, so his focus is on clarity. Last fall, Bryan joined the weekly pastors' meetings, where four pastors and lay leaders plan who will preach at their 7-8 surrounding churches. They work through the passage together to ensure a shared understanding. Through this, Bryan not only helps them grasp the text but also encourages better hermeneutics. The Twomblys are increasingly convinced that planting a church in Madang is necessary to eventually see a mature church in town.
Their coworkers, the Ruscios, joined them in 2024, which has been a wonderful blessing to the Twomblys.

- Pray for their continued faithfulness to the Lord, to their family, in CLA, and in their current ministry opportunities with local pastors.
- Pray for Bryan and Kerra’s marriage, that they would be faithful in their roles as husband and wife, especially as ministry ramps up and they settle into more sustainable family rhythms.
- Pray for steady hearts and minds as they keep an eye on Bryan's health.
- Pray for unity and camaraderie with the Ruscios as they live and work alongside one another, especially in the pressure cooker that is CLA (FinisTerre’s Culture, Language, and Acquisition Program they are currently participating in).
