The Cure for Worry

Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: special service Topic: Faith Passage: Matthew 6:25–34

It’s the will of God that we rejoice and be thankful in all things. Yet we must admit that sometimes we're more characterized by anxiety than gratitude. We hear the daily news and it’s drumbeat of gloom, we see the culture slipping ever deeper into rank immorality and godlessness, we feel the relentless pressures and uncertainties of life, and we quickly find that our peace is gone and our love has grown cold. Anxiety is like a weed in our spiritual garden, and it will only thrive and spread until we take determined action to uproot it. Have you become dominated by fear and depression? Remember that anxiety isn’t caused by your circumstances, but rather by a measure of unbelief in the promises of God. The cure for anxiety is a simple one. Set your mind to walk by faith and not by sight. The anxious man sets his hope and security on earthly things, but as for you, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and you will find that He amply supplies your every need.
