Be Strong in the Grace of God
Pastor: Pastor Marc Wragg Series: Special Topic Topic: Discipleship Passage: 2 Timothy 2:1
If we live by our own strength, the difficulties of this world will leave us feeling overwhelmed as we begin a slow downward spiral into the darkness of depression. It begins with a neglect of prayer and study that inevitably leads us to remove ourselves from the accountability of fellowship. Ultimately, we even question the love of God, and we wonder if He has given up on us. Many Christians have known moments like this. However, the cause is not God leaving us, but us resisting Him. How can we guard ourselves from this spiritual danger? Be strong in the innumerable and inexhaustible graces that God supplies through Jesus Christ! Remember the great salvation by which He made you alive, and the Holy Spirit who convicts you of sin, illumines your mind to discern truth, and empowers you to love God. Rejoice in the Word that makes you wise, the fellowship that holds you accountable, and the providence that directs your path. Grace is not just the means by which we come; it is the power that sees us through.
