An Exciting New Chapter in the Life and Ministry of Saving Grace Bible Church

websitepicA.JPGIn the three and a half brief years since Saving Grace Bible Church was established, we have had the privilege of regularly seeing God’s faithfulness on display. He has honored His Word by transforming hearts and lives, and sustained us by supplying all of our needs. Now, according to the riches of His boundless grace, God has provided us with a dedicated church building, located at 235 North Tamiami in Osprey. The church is in a highly visible location within easy drive time for residents from Sarasota to North Port.

This new building is far more than just a place to call home. From this location, we can sink roots deeply into the life of the surrounding community. It gives us the space to further develop existing ministries, and the time and flexibility to cultivate and build on new ministry opportunities. It represents more time to teach, to fellowship, and to reach out into the local area for the purpose of making new disciples of Jesus Christ, and to encourage Christians who hunger and thirst for the Word of God.

WebsitepicB.JPGAs we have labored to renovate the church building so that is suitable for the Lord's purposes, we have cleared and tended the grounds, removed walls and floors, primed, painted, and lovingly seen to every conceivable detail. But all of this is merely preparation for the more important and ongoing work of biblically faithful ministry. By the providence, grace and kindness of the Lord, services began in the new building on Sunday, September 7th, 2014.

A Brief History of Saving Grace Bible Church

In June of 2009, under the guidance of Grace Immanuel Bible Church in Jupiter, several Venice families began meeting on Sunday evenings in the hope of planting a church.

Within a few months, we were meeting on Sunday mornings in a trailer at Venice Christian School, and streaming sermons from our sister church plant in Naples. The trailer was cramped and there were many challenges, but through those joys God began to teach us the patience we would need for the work ahead. Time and again He showed us that if we would walk by faith, He would demonstrate that His grace was sufficient for our every need.

In the fall of 2011, God provided a shepherd after His own heart. Master’s Seminary alumnus Marc Wragg became our senior Pastor/Teacher, and we took the name “Saving Grace Bible Church”. Soon after, we were meeting for worship at Garden Elementary School and feasting on a steady diet of skillful biblical exposition.

We spent most of 2012 in the book of Colossians, focusing on the glories of Jesus Christ, the Object of our faith. Then we spent fourteen months in the book of 1 John. We were humbled when we meditated on the life of love and obedience that God calls us to, and we were assured as God produced in us a greater desire to live like our Savior. From that time until now, the Lord has regularly added to our number, bringing couples and families not only from across the state, but across the country.
